So, today you’ll get incredible vocabulary to describe a variety of perspectives related to this. All of today’s words/phrases can be used in IELTS Speaking and Writing. All vocabulary today was taken from various stories from the NPR program On the Media. I highly recommend this show to expand your culture of thinking and critical awareness. 1. Right / left-wing- Instead of saying ‘conservative’ and ‘liberal’, we can use these phrases to describe democrats and republicans. 2. Think tank- A group of people belonging to a political party, lobby or other organization that come up with strategies and ideas to accomplish objectives. 3. Lobby- An organization that tries to persuade the government to create / maintain certain policies that are in accordance with their ideals and values. One of the most powerful lobbies in the United States is that of the NRA. 4. Rhetoric spouted by ___- ‘Rhetoric’ is powerful language, and ‘spout’ means to say strongly. 5. Transparency- The state of being clear and obvious. Many people want the government to be more transparent, meaning that they should reveal all the data and information behind their decisions and policies. If these words/phrases are still unclear, put in some due diligence, and research! Google the phrases and see them in the context of a news article from a reputable source. Then, practice using these words/phrases to describe government and media in your own country. In our online IELTS course, 3 Keys IELTS, we give you all the strategies and practice you need to score highly on all parts of the IELTS exam. I remember President Bush likes wars, he always supports war." 10. Man watching televisions showing live news broadcast about US presidential election STORYLINE: As the long race for the White House neared its end on Tuesday, many in the Philippines were watching closely as Barack Obama and John McCain battled it out to become the next US president. Obama and McCain, separated by 25 years in age and widely differing politics, have agreed on one thing during the longest presidential campaign in US history - their promise to slam the door on the era of George W. Bush. One woman in the capital Manila certainly agreed, saying "it is time for change." Record numbers of Americans were expected at polling stations across the US, adding their ballots to 29 (m) million citizens who had already voted in 30 states. Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama leads in the polls against Republican presidential candidate John McCain, and the early vote tally suggests an advantage for Obama, with official statistics showing that Democrats voted in larger numbers than Republicans in North Carolina, Colorado, Florida and Iowa. The Democratic ticket of Barack Obama and Joe Biden face the Republicans, John McCain and Sarah Palin, in a much anticipated race that will draw a line under eight years of the Bush-Cheney administration. The election result will be historic whoever wins, as an African-American president reaches the White House or a female Vice-President takes up office for the first time in the nation's two hundred and thirty-two year history. Milton Manica Boleadoras/Boleadeiras/Bolas em TV Pampa (Brasil)

05:45
More from Milton Manica:http://www.youtube.com/user/StingMilton Milton Manica represent an extraordinary number that mixes precision, movement and music - the number of the BOLEADORAS. The Boleadoras are small balls fixed to the end of a rope. In the Pampas of Argentina, South of Brazil and Uruguay ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pampas ) the gauchoes were using them traditionally as weapon to hunt to the cattle. Later they were introduced in the folklore dances of the Gauchoes, as percussion instrument and also they have a visual very strong impact. Milton dominates the virtuosity and the technicality of the dance of the Gauchoes. His representation is definitively stylized and modern. Like boleador-dancer, Milton is an artist invited in 15 different channels of TELEVISION. Several newspapers have published articles about he and his art with the dance of the boleadoras. In 2012 Milton Mánica broke the Guinness World Record: removed all the petals of 18 roses from the mouth of his partner Gala with the boleadoras (bolas) in 2 minutes. He is the first Gaucho broke some record of Guinness. In 2009 with his spectacle "Gaucho" inspired in the culture of the gauchoes, he and his partner Gala won the prize of the public in the Festival (FAST) in Torredembarra, Spain. The year 1993 Milton like member of the group " Raizes de Sul America " gains the first prize between 7000 participants of 36 countries in an International Festival in Johannesburgo, South Africa. This video of BOLEADORAS: It's the video which has more viewers in the network about this theme. http://www.diablosdelapampa.com/ http://www.gauchocat.com/

Prof. Dr. OLLE JOHANSSON ~ "Electromagnetic Frequencies & The Health Effects" [Age Of Truth TV] [HD]

56:07
Swedish Professor DR. OLLE JOHANSSON, former head of the Experimental Dermatology Unit and a neuroscientist at the world-renowned Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, Sweden, is interviewed by AGE OF TRUTH TV presenter Lucas Alexander, in this informative, fascinating in-depth hard-talk interview, filmed at the Open Mind Conference in Copenhagen, Denmark in September 2014. THE DANGEROUS HEALTH EFFECTS of Electromagnetic beams/frequencies coming from radiation and your MOBILE PHONES even from Television, which effects your brain!!! Can it cause illnesses and cancer? Too many children are brought up having a mobile phone. How dangerous is that? Can electromagnetic fields be use for sinister mind-control purposes to influence the mind? How dark does it get, and why? Olle Johansson has participated in more than 300 congresses, symposia and meetings as an invited speaker, and with free contributions and as an invited ‘observer’ at an additional 200. His studies have been widely recognized in the public media, including newspapers, radio and TV as well as on the Internet, both nationally as well as internationally. A regular interview guest in magazines, journals, tabloids and newspapers, as well as in radio shows, TV programmes and in the Internet-based news blogs and websites. Olle Johansson is a world-leading authority in the field of EMF radiation and health effects. His research group continues to investigate adverse health effects of modern, man-made, artificial electromagnetic fields as well as the functional impairment electrohypersensitivity. The very early introduction of the clinical term “screen dermatitis” was done to explain the cutaneous damages that developed in the late 1970s when office workers, first mostly women, began to be placed in front of computer monitors. Olle Johansson then called for action along lines of occupational medicine, biophysics and biochemistry, as well as neuroscience and experimental dermatology. The working hypothesis early became that persons with the impairment electrohypersensitivity react in a cellularly correct way to the electromagnetic radiation, maybe in concert with chemical emissions such as plastic components, flame retardants, etc., in a highly specific way and with a completely correct avoidance reaction — just as you would do if you had been exposed to e.g. sun rays, X-rays, radioactivity or chemical odors. Nowadays, electrohypersensitivity (EHS) is in Sweden an officially fully recognized functional impairment (i.e., it is not regarded as a disease). Survey studies show that somewhere between 230,000-290,000 Swedish men and women—out of a population of 10,000,000—report a variety of symtoms when being in contact with electromagnetic field sources. To this, one should also add all the current issues regarding the bigger picture: the health effects of electromagnetic fields on the general population, including memory, concentration and learning difficulties, neurological damage and cancer, immune system impairments, fertility issues, as well as impacts on other animals, plants and bacteria. Olle Johansson and his collaborators have, in addition, worked in great depth in areas such as skin diseases, cancer, child delivery, female urine incontinence, oral mucosa diseases, brain and spinal cord morphology, synaptology and chemical transmission, peripheral nervous system-related issues, cardiac function, skeletal muscle function and disease, and connective tissue ripening phenomena. He has published more than 600 original articles, reviews, book chapters and conference reports within the fields of basic and applied neuroscience, dermatoscience, epidemiology, and biophysiology. He has received a number of awards, including the Nokia Consumer Electronics Award, The Grand Environment Award of the Cancer and Allergy Foundation, the SIF Award, Tandvårdsskadeförbundets Pris, and many more. Olle Johansson is – or has been – a member of, i.a., The European Neuroscience Association (ENA), The European Society for Dermatological Research (ESDR), IBAS Users of Scandinavia (IBUS), The International Brain Research Organization (IBRO), The International Society for Stereology (ISS), The New York Academy of Sciences, The Royal Microscopical Society (RMS), Scandinavian Society for Electron Microscopy (SCANDEM), The Skin Pharmacology Society (SPS), Society for Neuroscience, Svenska Fysiologföreningen, Svenska Intressegruppen för Grafisk Databehandling (SIGRAD), Svenska Läkaresällskapet, and the Svenska Sällskapet för Automatiserad Bildanalys (SSAB). Olle Johansson has on-going international scientific collaborations with, i.a., Japan, Belgium, Australia, Brasil, India, Uruguay, Serbia, Germany and USA. PLEASE LIKE AND SUBSCRIBE TO OUR CHANNEL! NKorea newspapers, street scenes on day after historic Kim-Trump summit

02:22
(13 Jun 2018) North Koreans got their first glimpse of images of Kim Jong Un and Donald Trump's Singapore summit on Wednesday, a day after the event. The country's main newspaper, the Workers' Daily, had it as headline news.   The broadsheet is distributed around Pyongyang but normally does not come out early in the day.   People with smartphones who can pay for data use can see the newspaper's articles sooner than the hard copy hits the streets. State-run television started its broadcast at the usual time of 3pm (0600GMT) and after a few minutes of the usual introductory songs praising the country's former leaders, its best-known newsreader Ri Chun Hui presented the official report of the summit without any images of the actual event. It is usual for North Korean media to report events a day or more after they have happened. Live television broadcasts are rare, and even rarer of anything from abroad. In Pyongyang, it wasn't possible to get official comment on camera about the results of the summit. Even after Tuesday's meeting in Singapore, Pyongyang's effort to improve relations with the US remains a very sensitive subject inside North Korea. Louise Hay is a bestselling author, speaker and inspirational teacher whose healing techniques, affirmations and positive thinking have inspired millions worldwide. She is known as one of the founders of the self-help movement. Her first book, Heal Your Body, was published in 1976, long before it was fashionable to discuss the connection between the mind and body. Revised and expanded in 1988, this best-selling book introduced Louise's concepts to people in 33 different countries and has been translated into 25 languages throughout the world. Through Louise's healing techniques and positive philosophy, millions have learned how to create more of what they want in their lives, including more wellness in their bodies, minds, and spirits. Her own personal philosophy was forged from her tormented upbringing. Her childhood was unstable and impoverished, and her teen years were marked by abuse. Louise ran away from home and ended up in New York City, where she became a model and married a prosperous businessman. Although it appeared that her life had turned around, it was not until the marriage ended 14 years later that her healing really began. Louise's healing message has been the subject of many newspapers and magazine articles. She has appeared on television around the world, and her monthly column, "Dear Louise," appears in more than 50 publications in the United States, Canada, Australia, Spain, and Argentina.
