National Stock Exchange of India | Wikipedia audio article

This is an audio version of the Wikipedia Article: National Stock Exchange of India Listening is a more natural way of learning, when compared to reading. Written language only began at around 3200 BC, but spoken language has existed long ago. Learning by listening is a great way to: - increases imagination and understanding - improves your listening skills - improves your own spoken accent - learn while on the move - reduce eye strain Now learn the vast amount of general knowledge available on Wikipedia through audio (audio article). You could even learn subconsciously by playing the audio while you are sleeping! If you are planning to listen a lot, you could try using a bone conduction headphone, or a standard speaker instead of an earphone. This video uses Google TTS en-US-Standard-D voice. SUMMARY ======= The National Stock Exchange of India Limited (NSE) is the leading stock exchange of India, located in Mumbai. The NSE was established in 1992 as the first demutualized electronic exchange in the country. NSE was the first exchange in the country to provide a modern, fully automated screen-based electronic trading system which offered easy trading facility to the investors spread across the length and breadth of the country. Vikram Limaye is Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer (MD & CEO) of NSE. National Stock Exchange has a total market capitalization of more than US$2.27 trillion, making it the world’s 11th-largest stock exchange as of April 2018. NSE's flagship index, the NIFTY 50, the 50 stock index is used extensively by investors in India and around the world as a barometer of the Indian capital markets. Nifty 50 index was launched in 1996 by the NSE. However, Vaidyanathan (2016) estimates that only about 4% of the Indian economy / GDP is actually derived from the stock exchanges in India.Unlike countries like the United States where nearly 70% of the GDP is derived from larger companies and the corporate sector, the corporate sector in India accounts for only 12-14% of the national GDP (as of October 2016). Of these only 7,800 companies are listed of which only 4000 trade on the stock exchanges at BSE and NSE. Hence the stocks trading at the BSE and NSE account for only around 4% of the Indian economy, which derives most of its income related activity from the so-called unorganized sector and households.Economic Times estimated that as of April 2018, 60 million (6 crore) retail investors had invested their savings in stocks in India, either through direct purchases of equities or through mutual funds. Earlier, the Bimal Jalan Committee report estimated that barely 1.3% of India's population invested in the stock market, as compared to 27% in USA and 10% in China.

Price Discovery: The Economic Function of a Stock Exchange

22:47
Robert A. Schwartz and Nazli Sila Allen http://jpm.iprjournals.com/content/40/1/124 This article defines an exchange according to its primary function: establishing shares’ trading prices. After establishing the public goods property of an exchange-produced price, the article stresses that price discovery is a complex process that depends on market structure. Recognizing that the quality of price discovery can be inferred from the magnitude of intraday price volatility, the authors display intraday volatility for a sample of DOW stocks, show how volatility decreased for NASDAQ stocks following the institution of NASDAQ’s calls in 2004, and trace the broader evolution of intraday volatility from 1993 to 2011.

HOW AND WHEN TO INVEST IN SOLAR - STOCK MARKET NEWS

08:13
Link to research platform: https://sven-carlin-research-platform.teachable.com/ Link to FSLR: https://sven-carlin-research-platform.teachable.com/courses/stock-market-research-platform/lectures/5213427 You can read the full article here: https://allweatherinvestments.com/2018/06/18/solar-stocks-carnage-cyclicality-explained/ Stock market news – Solar stocks carnage – Cyclicality explained! The three main educational take outs of this article are: cyclicality, market sentiment (analysts) and action (when to invest). We’ll discuss the above while analyzing the solar sector and the recent decline. I have been researching the solar sector for a few weeks now and am coming to an end. What is interesting is that since I started researching the sector in depth, sentiment towards solar stocks has completely changed. Stocks like First Solar (FSLR), SolarEdge (SEDG) and SMA Solar (SMA) went from being the darlings of the market to being the most hated stocks out there. What is incredible is how quickly can sentiment change and consequently how hardly can the respective stocks be hit. It is so important to look at what happened because there is so much to learn about how cyclicality works and how vulnerable are businesses that have no moats. What happened in the solar sector? Up till mid-May all looked well for solar stocks, California made it mandatory for new homes to have solar panels from 2020, FSLR was announcing production increases alongside new production plants and on May 10, 2018, J.P. Morgan even upgraded FSLR by increasing its price target from $75 to $85 based on the market-leading Series 6 product. I am always wary of investing in such a bullish environment and good news because if you take a look at the longer-term stock price charts, you can see that the current stock prices are not far from where they were just a while ago. What happened is that many investors got carried away by the flow of good news and strong earnings during the first months of 2018, they forgot that the solar industry is extremely cyclical where supply gaps can quickly turn into supply gluts. The first big hit was when China announced the suspension of solar quotas and subsidies cuts in order to put the exploding industry under control. Tariffs on electricity generated from clean energy have been lowered by 0.05 yuan per kilowatt hour, a cut of 6.7% to 9% depending on the region. This is what triggered the spiral of downgrades for solar stocks. Bank of America Merril Lynch lowered its FSLR price target from $85 to $63 on expected margin contraction where the halt in Chinese installations will potentially lead to a global oversupply of panels and lower prices. It is funny that the same bank upgraded the stock just two months ago. JMP downgraded FSLR form $87 to $46 and Goldman lowered its price target from $75 to $48 based on 40% lower volume expectations in China. In my analysis of FSLR that you can read here, I have estimated cyclicality which gave me a much lower valuation than what other bullish analysts were seeing. I might even have to lower the peak earnings there a bit but when you look at it from the long term, the most important thing to understand is that the solar panel industry and related sectors, is and will always be cyclical. When solar panel prices are high and FSLR can have a 35% gross profit margin, many others flock in to take a bite out of such a delicious pie. Given the regulatory and subsidy risks, we can call such a sector as unstable. When and how to invest in solar stocks? When investing you have two options. You can invest only after there is a stream of good news, analysts’ upgrades, strong earnings and guidance, or you can invest when a sector gets in trouble. The risks for the first option is that some bad news quickly put you in the red, as it happened lately with solar stocks. There is also the fear of missing out as some have been preaching FSLR to go to $140. The key message here is that in order to invest in something, one must have a clear long-term view of the sector, the long-term earnings potential and take advantage of market irrationalities surrounding the environment. The only way to have more confidence in your decisions is to have clear value models for each stock and invest only when the stock comes to you and is below your intrinsic value in order to give you a margin of safety. STOCK MARKET HITS ALL TIME HIGHS - TIME TO SELL!!

13:06
Stocks just hit record highs…but how high can this go? Is it time to sell? Should people invest or hold off until prices go down? Lets answer this, from a logical, historic perspective…enjoy. Add me on Snapchat/Instagram: GPStephan Join the private Real Estate Facebook Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/therealestatemillionairemastermind/ Get $50 OFF + FREE Coaching Call FOR A LIMITED TIME: Code THANKYOU50 - The Real Estate Agent Academy: Learn how to start and grow your career as a Real Estate Agent to a Six-Figure Income, how to best build your network of clients, expand into luxury markets, and the exact steps I’ve used to grow my business from $0 to over $120 million in sales: https://goo.gl/UFpi4c To start, lets get this out of the way for some disclosure…no one can accurately predict the market. I have no idea if stock market prices will be lower next week, higher next week, or lower next year, or higher next year…no one knows for sure. With that said, here’s an interesting perspective…In May of 2013, stocks hit all time highs…at this point, the SP500 was sitting around $1630 per share. Then we have April 1st, 2014…stocks hit more all time highs. At this point, the SP500 was hovering around $1860 per share. Then we have April 23rd, 2015…stocks hit all time highs, and the SP500 was now at $2080 per share. Then we have August 8th, 2016…now the SP500 was trading at $2180 per share. And then August 1 2017….STOCKS HIT RECORD HIGHS… the SP500 was trading at $2400 per share. And now…AUGUST 29TH…STOCKS HIT RECORD HIGHS…and the SP500 is at $2900 per share. Here’s what I’m getting at. Naturally we’re always going to be hitting record highs at some point or another. They have been in the 1950’s, the 1960’s, the 70’s…all the way to today. As markets increase, this is just a natural part of investing that we all thankfully have to deal with. The reality is…do we know when the market will drop? No. Could it be lower a year from now? Yes. Could it decline in price for the next several years in a row? Yes. Can we accurately and consistently predict when it will crash and when it will rise? Not really.. Given this context, we can only base an investing strategy off what we KNOW, which comes from long term historic trends. The safest, and also the most profitable investing strategy EVER when it comes to investing, is this: Save Your Money Buy when you can Buy consistently Don’t worry about “buying low, selling high” Simply buy and DON’T SELL. That’s it. Will there be some years the market goes down? Absolutely. Will there be years the market goes up? YES. Could it go down tomorrow? Yes. Could it go up tomorrow? Yes. But the long term trend should be overall UP when you look at a 20-30 year timespan. Invest what you can, live below your means, save money…and hold long term. Personally, I don't view the downtrend in other asset classes as a positive as it leads to there being competition on "where" to buy the dip: Bitcoin, stocks, bonds or the mini-dip in gold? For the rest of the details in this video, of which there are plenty, please check out Steemit where I have room to paste the entire script for the video so you can read instead if you prefer. Thanks for watching / reading! Steemit: https://steemit.com/bitcoin/@cryptovestor/is-the-bitcoin-and-stock-market-crash-related ================ If you like my content, you can support me through using ANY of the affiliate links below (I receive small compensation). The beauty of affiliate links is that I can pick and choose what I like rather than have companies approach me - everything I linked below (with the exception of Trezor since I like Ledger), I use myself frequently. ================ My Recommended Hardware Wallets: If you want to store your cryptocurrencies safely, the best way is through a hardware wallet. Seriously - look it up and you'll find plenty of information supporting this claim. There are alternatives such as paper wallets, but these are convenient and my choice for cold storage (offline): Ledger Nano S: http://amzn.to/2hZPj0q Trezor: http://amzn.to/2AxD9TN Ledger Blue (expensive): http://amzn.to/2hk7xst I personally prefer the Ledger Nano S, but the Trezor is such a close second that it really doesn't matter which one you go with. Ledger Blue is premium and convenient, but not necessary. ================ My Favorite Book for Investing in Crypto: Cryptoassets: http://amzn.to/2zKDdCF This book is, bar none, my favorite book for investing in cryptocurrencies. It doesn't bog you down with technical jargon, but instead focuses on all the elements you should understand before you invest. It's a comprehensive book for both beginners and experts. Beginners will find information about major cryptocurrencies (not just Bitcoin) as well as details on historical market events (that you can draw on for future) and events to watch for moving into the future. Experts will find the chapters on valuation particularly useful. For those of you involved in traditional investing, this book is even more of a godsend as finance info is explored (correlations with other asset classes, ETFs, etc). ================ My Recommended Exchanges: Coinbase / GDAX / Bittrex https://www.coinbase.com/join/5a08b12e305a1401d79d10e0 If you sign up to Coinbase using link above, you and I will both receive $10 each after you buy your first $100 of Bitcoin using Coinbase. Coinbase is much less intimidating for beginners. Once ready, move up to GDAX for cheaper or zero fees. For altcoins, I recommend Bittrex. ================ Legal Stuff: I am a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for me to earn fees by linking to Amazon.com and affiliated sites. None of what I provide in my videos is investment advice. Please do your own due diligence. ================ My Platforms: Twitter: https://twitter.com/Truth_Investor SteemIt: https://steemit.com/@cryptovestor Medium: https://medium.com/@Truth_Investor Seeking Alpha: https://seekingalpha.com/author/truth-investor/articles
