Learn the secrets of success from those who built their own empires from scratch. You can try adopting the habits of super rich people and see how it will help you save money. Successful people are rarely night owls; they go to bed and wake up quite early. So this was the first habit I decided to take on. By the end of the first week, I noticed that I was able to do way more before noon than I could ever do during the whole day. One more week into the experiment I started waking up completely well-rested and excited to start a new day. Self-made successes swear by exercising every day for at least 30 minutes. After just 10 days, it already became a habit. I became more concentrated and calmer. If meditating helps successful people stay on top of their game, it should help me out too. Networking is like currency for successful people. A lot of successful people (like Steve Jobs, for instance) keep a super minimalistic approach to fashion, often wearing the same outfit every day. Truly smart and successful people control their expenses and don’t spend their money on useless things. Music: Operatic - Vibe Mountain https://www.youtube.com/audiolibrary/music TIMESTAMPS Go to bed and wake up quite early 0:34 Exercise every day for at least 30 minutes 1:51 Meditate 3:01 Set goals and achieve them 3:57 Meet new people as much as you can 4:44 Read more useful books 5:34 Wear simple clothes 6:24 Be thrifty 7:10 Conclusion 8:08 SUMMARY -With will power of steel, I decided to wake up at the same time every day and come to work an hour early. It took me 3 days to get the schedule right. -The hardest part here wasn't even the gym itself, it was exercising after working all day. After just 10 days, it already became a habit. I started sleeping better and waking up easier. -Meditation turned out to be a really good way to get my head straight and renew my energy. -Even though I didn’t manage to tackle all my tasks, I was able to do more things in the first week than I did during the entire previous month. -I learned to find common ground with people from the get-go, met a lot of extraordinary individuals, and made some really good friends. -I carried a book with me at all times and read it on the way to work and back home or during lunch. As a result, by the end of the first month, I had finished my fourth book. -I no longer had to waste time every day choosing my outfit, deciding whether or not it matched or if it was trendy and whatnot. -I started out by making a list of everything that I bought every day so that I could see what I spent my money on. This system helped me save 40% of my salary in the first month and almost 60% in the second. -New habits really did completely change my life for the better. According to Hamza, managing millennials and knowledge workers the way we used to manage traditional factory workers can be disastrous. Speaking through his own experience of being managed and alternatively as a manager, Hamza makes the case that millennials must be lead, instead of managed and given autonomy to complete their tasks, so that they may grow and reach their full potential. If you ask Hamza Khan about his role as a manager, he’ll tell you his approach to managing is to avoid it altogether. Before his success as an award-winning digital marketer and entrepreneur, Hamza was a student struggling to find a practical outlet for his creativity while pursuing a degree in business and political science at the University of Toronto Scarborough. In his third-year of university, Hamza switched his major and received a Bachelor of Arts to facilitate a future career in creative multimedia and storytelling. Since graduating, he has worked as a graphic designer and marketer, and teaches social media strategy at Seneca College. He is also credited with making Ryerson University Canada’s leading university in online student engagement. Business Psychologist Andrew Sillitoe explores why some people rise to the top 20% in their field starting with research into why young people stay engaged with sport throughout their teens. Engaging others to operate at their full potential may be less of a mystery than we think – listen to Andrew’s story about what he learnt on the road playing street hockey and what it takes to create a high performance culture. All TEDxRoyalTunbridgeWells videos recorded by Graham Hobbs, Clockhouse Productions. http://www.clockhouse.co.uk/ When Andrew Sillitoe was 9 his mum bought him a street hockey stick. An unusual gift for an English boy living in the South East of England, but in that moment, his life would never be the same. He is now one of the most recognisable names in the inline hockey scene, both as a player and coach. Andrew studied an MSc in Organisational Psychology from Birkbeck University. He wrote his first book Managing the Mist How to develop winning mind-sets and create high performing teams in 2013. http://www.engvid.com/ Do you work in customer service? What do you do when your customer has a problem? In this video, I will teach you how to give great customer service. You will learn many polite expressions you can use with your customers. I will explain the Listen, Apologize, Solve, and Thank (L.A.S.T) method, which will help your performance at any customer service job. I'll also give you my customer service tips for dealing with an angry customer. After this video, watch Rebecca's video about phone customer service: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KBSrZYXkkyE Take the quiz at http://www.engvid.com/how-to-give-great-customer-service-the-last-method/ TRANSCRIPT Hello. My name is Emma, and in today's video I am going to teach you a very, very important thing for customer service. I used to work in customer service, and this is actually one of the most important things I learned, and this is called the L-A-S-T or LAST approach. So, to get started, let's talk a little bit about: What is customer service? So, customer service is when you have customers, of course, and you're trying to make your customers as comfortable and happy as possible. You're also trying to meet their needs and expectations, and solve any problems or situations that they might have. So, customer service is a huge category. There's many, many different jobs where you use customer service. If you work in a hotel, for example, as a clerk, you know, in the lobby, as a bellhop, you will be using customer service. If you work at a restaurant as a server, you'll be using customer service, or as a hostess. If you're the manager of a store, you'll be using customer service. If you work in a business or even in a hospital, you'll be using customer service. So, pretty much any time you're dealing with people from the public and they're customers and you're trying to help them, you're doing customer service. So, there are many different problems that a customer might have. What are some examples of some problems? Can you think of anything, a problem a customer might have? Maybe somebody charged them too much for something, maybe they're in a store and the lineups are too long, maybe a customer is at a hotel and they're very unhappy because the Wi-Fi isn't working or their bed's uncomfortable. So, there's so many different problems customers might have at different types of businesses. In this video what I'm going to teach you is: What do you do when a customer has a problem? Okay? So, a very easy thing to do when a customer has a problem is called the LAST approach. "LAST", what does it stand for? Well, if a customer has a problem, the first thing you should do is listen to their problem, the next thing you should do is apologize, solve their problem, and thank them. So: Listen, Apologize, Solve, and Thank. We're going to look at expressions we use to show we're listening, expressions to apologize, expressions that can help us solve problems, and expressions to thank customers. Okay, so the first step when a customer has a problem is to listen. So, the first thing you should do is find out what the problem is. You can ask them: "What seems to be the problem?" or "How can I help you?" Okay? Once they start explaining what the problem is, very important that you look like you're actually listening and that you do listen. Okay? So, you shouldn't look at your watch: "Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm." Okay? That's a bad idea. You shouldn't look at the sky: "Uh, when is this person going to stop talking?" Okay? You shouldn't roll your eyes. Okay? No, no, no. You need to show that you actually care about what the customer is saying. So, showing you're listening is very important. You can repeat back to the customer what they're saying to show that you understand and to make sure that you did understand. So: "So what you're saying is, you know, there's no hot water in this hotel.", "So what you're saying is the Wi-Fi's not working and you're not happy with that." Okay? These are some examples. "So what you're saying is _________." You can also say: "Let me get this right..." "Let me get this right, what you're saying is that, you know, there's a problem at your table.", "What you're saying is that you've been waiting for your food for a really long time." So it's important to show that you are listening and you acknowledge what they have said. Okay. Now, sometimes with customer service you get a customer who's very angry, and maybe they start swearing, they start using very bad language. Okay? So if this happens, very important that you don't get upset. Okay? When this happened to me in the past, I would actually pretend to be a computer. I would not take anything personally. I would just smile and pretend to be a computer, and that's how I got through angry customers. So, if the person is rude... You know, it's not right if somebody is saying something rude to you, if they're swearing at you, or they're making you feel uncomfortable. So, be polite. Okay?

Tantrums are very common in kids aged 1 to 4. More than half of kids let their frustration out at least once a week, or more often. Why do they do it? By the time they turn 3 or 4, kids have much better language skills than babies, of course, but their vocabulary is still not advanced enough to describe everything they feel. So what can you do to prevent your kids from going crazy now and then? TIMESTAMPS Make your child feel comfortable 1:21 Let your toddler choose 2:08 Find out what's really bothering your kid 2:58 Distract your little one 3:40 Become a good teacher for your kid 4:23 Do not provoke tantrums 5:20 Use positive words 5:56 Keep a straight face 6:30 Give praise when the kid deserves it 7:00 Be smart about the pocket money 7:38 SUMMARY - If you are going out for a longer time, take their favorite blanket with you. It will give them the feeling of home and safety. When you are a parent, you tend to take plenty of stuff with you even when you leave the house for an hour. If someone is making fun of you, let them. - Start with little things, which will make him or her feel like they are in control. Control also means responsibility. They will of course not know it just now, but they will see how their choices affect what they do and how they feel. - don’ta get the message; they don’t get the answer. What do they do? Throw a tantrum. Dr. Hoecker offers the following solution: try to create a sign language your kid will understand and remember. Teach them to show basic words like “food,” “milk,” “sleep” and so on. - Your child will unlikely be getting over a breakup or job loss, but they have their own concerns, as we know. When you feel danger is coming, the baby’s face is reddening, or they are giving other signs of a tantrum to follow, distract them. “Let’s go for a walk,” “How about we read your favorite book” are all great ways to divert your child’s fleeting attention. - Michele Borba, Ed.D., author of Parents Do Make a Difference, explains that kids really want to do what is right, but sometimes they just don’t know what that is. Explain your concerns and fears, never yell at or in front of your kid. You could even make up an “angry vocabulary” for your child. That would be a list of words to express negative emotions. - Your kid doesn’t like to be forcefully interrupted, or feels uncomfortable about doing certain things? Give them warning before they have to do it and explain why it is necessary. - Millions of people in 47 countries around the world love Supernanny. This modern-day Mary Poppins gives great parenting advice. One of the things she suggests is using positive instead of the negative. Every time you feel like screaming "no," "don’t" and "stop," don’t do it. “Don’t jump on the couch” could motivate your kid to do the opposite, especially if they are moody. - Introduce the new family rule to your kid. When he or she starts whining, you have the right not to respond to them. If that happens, keep your face straight. You made a deal, right? Jane Nelsen, Ed.D., coauthor of Positive Discipline for Preschoolers recommends that you also introduce a warning sign which will show you are going to stop listening. - We are not just talking about money here. Your baby will unlikely appreciate it, anyway. Thank the kids for doing something right. Doctor Michele Borba thinks it is a good idea to say things like "Thanks for using your normal voice" or "My ears love that voice." - All families are different and have different income. There is no universal answer for “how much pocket money to give your kid” in numbers. Rooster Money, a resourcefully focused on how you should go about pocket money for your child, offers an Allowance Report. It says four-year-olds get an average of $2.82. This amount is slowly growing and doubles by the time the kid turns 9. At TEDxUtopia, the question was asked: What would leadership in Utopia look like? To start with, imagine the best leader you have ever worked with. How did he or she get to become this type of leader? Leadership lecturer and former corporate executive Lars Sudmann argues that it's likely that they learned to overcome the "leadership formula of doom" and then developed themselves as a leader. In this funny and invigorating talk Lars walks us through the personal journeys of great leaders, shows lessons from the golden age of leadership and shares 3 strategies on self-leadership to develop yourself into a "Utopia leader”. Lars Sudmann is a leadership advisor and award-winning lecturer. He studies and researches what makes the most advanced organizations and leaders successful – and then he shares that knowledge with the world. He has had a business career of more than 10 years in management and finance with Procter & Gamble, e.g. as the Chief Financial Officer of Belgium, and he has lived and worked in Europe and Asia. Trends/Tendance, the Belgian Business Magazine, and the BBC have called on his expertise. Additionally, he is currently a university lecturer in Aachen and Braunschweig (both Germany). What does leadership in Utopia look like? How does leadership work in a future ultra-networked world? And is there one leadership ideal that we can all strive towards, and if yes, what is holding us back from achieving it? In this highly engaging talk, leadership expert Lars Sudmann will dive into the past, present and future of excellent leadership. One of the Bright Side writers decided to adjust his daily routine to leave only 2-4 hours for sleep! Do you ever think about how cool it would be if there were more hours in a day? You would easily have time for everything: work, hobbies, friends, and family or just lazing around doing nothing at all. But enough dreaming, let's get back to reality. The only way to make it happen is by sleeping less, but would that actually work without turning you into a tired grouch? TIMESTAMPS Where did the idea come from? 0:50 Day 1 2:48 Day 2 3:20 Day 3 3:46 Day 4 4:15 Day 5 4:55 Days 6-7 5:41 Days 8-10 6:20 Days 11-14 6:55 Pros of polyphasic sleep 7:30 Cons of polyphasic sleep 8:46 My thoughts after the experiment 9:48 SUMMARY If your life is like one big to-do list that you just can't seem to keep up with, then polyphasic sleep is probably for you. All jokes aside, I definitely became more productive, and I have a lot of spare time that allows me to do everything I want and even more. On the other hand, it can be difficult since the whole world is on a completely different regimen. Your friends and family might think it’s weird when you tell them you can't go out with them or ask them to pause a movie so you can take a nap. In any case, it's your choice to make. Just do your homework first, and then go for it! If this sort of dramatic change isn’t for you, don't worry! There are still lots of things you can do to improve your productivity. "Tell me about a difficult situation or challenge you faced in a workplace" By asking this question, employers are trying to see how you (A) take charge in handling a challenging situation, or (B) collaborate with your coworkers as a team to solve a conflict. They want to know if you have critical thinking and problem solving skill, how you approach the problem and the level of responsibility you take in challenging situations. It is very important to make sure that you use an example that demonstrates your ability to handle difficult situation. So do not mention about when you elevated the responsibility. Rather, talk about times when you stepped up and took a leadership position by collaborating with your coworkers. In order to construct effective story, use PAR model and follow the 3 steps. 1 Problem: Identify the problem. What was the issue? 2 Action: How did you and your coworkers analyzed the problem and took actions to solve the issue? 3 Result: What was the positive outcome in result of the action? By following PAR model, you can frame your story well. Watch the video to see example answer and start constructing your answer. Jobspeaker is a FREE service to help job seekers find better jobs. This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. Dr. Crum says the biggest game changer is “YOU, by harnessing the power of your mind." She explores scientific results that show the influence of the mindset on the body, and how changing the subjective mindset produced different outcomes. Dr. Crum's work is inspired in part by the placebo effect, and has implications that stretch far beyond the realm of medicine. Dr. Crum is a professor, psychologist, and researcher investigating how mindsets affect health and behavior. Dr. Crum's research focuses on how changes in subjective mindsets—the lenses through which information is perceived, organized, and interpreted—can alter objective reality through behavioral, psychological, and physiological mechanisms. Her work is, in part, inspired by research on the placebo effect, a notable and consistent demonstration of the ability of the mindset to elicit healing properties in the body. She is interested in understanding how mindsets affect important outcomes outside the realm of medicine, in the domains of behavioral health and organizational behavior. In this video, Stefan provides you with some money management tips for how to budget and save money. Saving is very important. You have to make sure that you are putting money aside every month. The problem is that most people do not budget or save their money. In fact, most people live paycheque to paycheque. Whatever money they earn goes directly to paying off their monthly expenses. Therefore, there is no positive cash flow that they can then use and put aside. Harv Eker said it best – “It comes down to this: Either you control money, or it controls you. To control money, you must manage it”. How to save up money easily for a house or for a new car? Learn a genius hack on how to save more money each month. As a bonus, we'll tell teach you how to safely hide your cash. "If only I could stop spending money on stuff I don’t need, I would buy so many useful things!" Have you ever thought this? Then this video is just for you. RULE 1: Subtract the last digit from each number to get a zero at the end. It’s easier to “zero out” cash into a piggy bank, and you may use a savings account or any other bank account to transfer the money from your card. RULE 2: Save everything that’s left over before payday — "zero out" one more time at the end of the month. For instance, you still have $300 in cash and $1,000 in the bank — just move it to your savings account. TIMESTAMPS «Zero out» your money every evening 0:31 Move any unspent money to your saving account 1:46 What are the advantages of this simple method? 2:05 The worst places to hide your cash: In the backyard 2:41 Under your mattress 2:58 In shopping bags 3:13 In old wallets and handbags 3:27 In laundry baskets 3:40 Behind a picture or photo in a frame 3:58 In safes that are not bolted down 4:13 In drawers and cabinets 4:34 Where to hide your money 4:53 SUMMARY If you feel like you have run out of places to hide your money, try the following suggestions: • Wrap your money in a plastic bag, and tape it to the bottom of the kitchen counter or to the bottom of your kid’s toy box (the best option is to create a false bottom in it). • In a waterproof container stored in the lowest drawer of your refrigerator or freezer. Make sure it doesn’t read "Ice cream" or something else yummy thieves might want to try. • Hide your savings among buttons, threads, and other sewing accessories. Unless thieves suddenly need to sew something, they most probably won’t look for your money in there. • In a pair of old shoes, clothes, or maybe in an old computer that no longer works. Make sure it all looks like junk you have not disposed of yet. "Most people want to be happy but their habit is to be worried or frustrated or stressed," says motivational speaker Tony Robbins. But changing that habit isn't as hard as you might think. “We all want to be able to change the way we feel. Emotion is created by motion. The way you move determines the way you feel. I have this deal with myself called ‘priming.’ It’s ten minutes, I put music on , I do this massive change in my breathing and then I do this 3-step process,” said Robbins. 1. 3-minutes of gratitude—Think about 3 things I’m really greatful for 2. 3-minute prayer for family and friends 3. 3-minute process of the top 3 things I want to accomplish “My deal is 10 so there is no excuse not to do it,” said Robbins.

✅http://lig.academy - Need a better job? Most LIG members find their ideal employment within as little as 15 days. Welcome to this week's episode where I make project management simple for you. To make it applicable to the majority of the audience, I am teaching Project Management Institute's (PMI) project management framework. ________________________________________________ Textbooks and frameworks are always boring. So, to make project management more interesting for you, I ran a project to demonstrate what steps to take and when. You won't regret spending 50 minutes to learn the basics of a wonderful practice called project management. You can also download all the templates I used in the session here (no need to register); https://thecareermastery.com/career-tips/project-management-simplified/ Although I strongly recommend you watch the entire session without skipping, for those of you who are just looking for snippets of information, you may find below the index of the video; 03:03 What is a project, program, and portfolio and how are they different from operations? 04:08 Project = Project Life Cycle + Project Management Process 04:43 Project Life Cycle 06:52 Process Groups 09:27 LIG, PMP certification or CAPM certification, which one is right for you? It definitely has a sexy tone to it right? Project… I just love the way it sounds. I wonder how cool it must sound in French. Proje… Well, project is a temporary endeavor to create a unique solution. Yeah that’s operations. No Well, the difference between a project and operations is fairly simple. A project ends. So, it’s temporary. You implement your project, you close it, you create a unique product/service/ or whatever outcome you wanted then you are done. Whereas in operations, it’s on-going and repetitive. You may have also heard about the terms program and portfolio. Let me just quickly explain them here. Program is multiple projects put together. Combined. And Portfolio is similarly. Multiple programs put together. So, it’s project, program, portfolio. Now before I go further, and dive deep. You need to understand something crucial. To run any project, you need 2 methodologies. The first one is a project life cycle and the second one is project management process. Most people confuse these 2. And if these are not clear, you can kiss the PMP certification goodbye. It’s absolutely amazing how many content creators in YouTube confuse these two. They are not interchangeable. You cannot afford to confuse a project life cycle with a project management process. Don’t worry I am going to make it very simple for you. Let’s start with Project Life Cycle. Project Life Cycle is unique to a project, to an industry, to your needs. It’s highly customizable. Think of it like this; a human development is a project. So, your life cycle is; 1) Conceiving 2) Birth 3) Childhood 4) Teenage hood. Teenage hood. Is that a word? Teenaging? 5) Adulthood 6) And death Easy stuff right? So, now if it was an IT project. I am not an IT but it would like something like this; High-level design Detailed Design Coding Testing Installation And Turnover This is project life cycle. The term cycle is a bit confusing here. I think. But who knows. This video covers; project management project management institute pmp project management professional certification project life cycle project management PMI managing a project project management fundamentals fundamentals of project management project management for beginners project management course

Axel Zein promotes a new way we manage businesses today: think of business as a sport. In sports, the team is decisive; the team with the best players usually wins. And sports are fun. So what qualifies a manager to be the perfect coach for his team? Who is doing the work in a normal company? It is not the CEO, not the managers but the engineers, the guys on the shop floor and the sales reps. They are the players on the ield. A manager is supposed to be their coach. But we are not educated to be coaches. During our careers we usually encounter a couple of really bad bosses, many mediocre managers and only a few outstanding ones. Living with severe anxiety and panic for most of my life, I never imagined a day where I would wake up without worry, fear, and anticipation – the kind that makes getting out of bed seem impossible. I remember staying under the covers hiding from every problem I thought I had, making life that much harder for myself and the people I love most. You don't have to let anxiety rule your life. Seek the help you need and be open with those who love you. And, when you find yourself in the middle of having a panic attack or chronic worrying, try the technique I discuss in this video. I hope it's the start of a new appreciation for yourself. xo For more content like this, follow us on: Facebook: Facebook.com/MelRobbins Instagram: @melrobbinslive Twitter: @MelRobbins Or, to book me for your next event, visit www.melrobbins.com

Seminar title: What next? Managing the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park under climate change Presented by: Laurence McCook Date: 18-19th October 2007 Seminar type: CoralCoE symposium Presentation given at the ARC Centre of Excellence for Coral Reef Studies 2007 symposium "Coral reef futures". Abstract: The need for urgent action to protect coral reefs is now beyond question, at least within the scientific community. A key aspect of success in conservation lies in our ability to get better as we go, and learn from our mistakes and our successes- that is to adaptively manage. As we increase efforts, we need to ensure that we continually improve our effectiveness in slowing the global decline in reefs. This means accepting that we won't get it right first time every time, and that we need to build on successful strategies and improve on unsuccessful ones. The scientific literature includes many critiques of marine conservation problems and mistakes, especially the literature on marine protected areas, but there's a tendency to see the glass as half empty and throw up our hands. It's really important to see the successes as well, the glass half full perspective, and to move onwards and upwards. Around Australia, and internationally, efforts to improve the management of marine biodiversity are being hindered by perceptions that such efforts will have negative impacts on local communities, especially fishers. But available evidence suggests that well managed ecosystems can have far greater long-term economic and social benefits than over-exploited and unprotected systems.
